The NBA announced its 2017 All-Star Game reserves for both the Eastern and Western Conference Thursday, finalizing the two teams.
Russell Westbrook is averaging a triple-double this season but still wasn’t named a Western Conference starter. He was, however, added to the reserves.
Biggest Surprise: While Millsap has quietly enjoyed a solid season, which is why so many teams are trying to trade for him, someone like Carmelo Anthony or even Brook Lopez could have been a better selection.
So Anthony has to cope with all of the losing and the latest trade rumors that have Jackson trying to send him to the Clippers. Los Angeles is one of the very few places Anthony would accept a trade to: He has a home in Los Angeles and he’d likely be fine with taking his brand to the NBA’s other mega-market, to a team that includes his buddy, Paul, and should make the playoffs.
But that doesn’t mean the Knicks will be able to swing a deal with the Clippers. According to reports, Jackson is not demanding Blake Griffin, who can’t come to the Knicks, anyway. Griffin is working on a rookie extension and the Knicks already have Derrick Rose playing under a similar deal. According to collective bargaining agreement rules, a team can’t have two such players, each acquired by a trade, on their roster at the same time.
According to industry sources, the Knicks don’t want to bring back Jamal Crawford, a player the Clips have offered. The ex-Knick still has three seasons at $45 million on his deal, and Jackson wants to avoid any lengthy deals. So the Clips Cheap Football Jerseys and Knicks will need to find a third team to make the deal work, but Cheap Gaelic Jerseys it’s all elementary, anyway. Anthony can use his no-trade clause to veto any deal.
